TTS you beat me to it. I have two magnifying glasses both have a different magnificationThey come in handy for the very small print which even with glasses can be hard to read.I-spy I cook a ping meal every other day for Yvonne .There is enough for her with her appetite sometimes she will finish the meal other times it ends up in the bin

I don't very often buy ready made (microwave) meals, but when I do, I have the same problem with the tiny print. I'm not a very big eater, but it makes me laugh when some of them say "Feeds 2". Two what? Anorexic scarecrows!
Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I'm a fairly good cook and make 98% of my meals from scratch and I try not to eat the same combination of food in the same month, so I keep a daily log of my food intake.

I've never bought a ' ready meal' , If I'm struggling to find summut fast and good, Beans on toast will always come to mind with, lobbies, bacon scallops, prato pie, pey soop , sausage n mash , Welsh rabbit. eggs in a cup , sardines on toast, kippers , or even
its green and knows kung fu

But Tom! What about your veggies (not including baked beans) and fruit? I must admit I don't each much fruit, but I do love me veggies. I have at least one, or more, with almost every meal.
I don't mind a norange every now and again, or bandana, or some razzleberries!

In my last job we got 30mins for our meal break so anything that you could ping was essential. It did not have to be a ready meal but anything you could heat up and eat in that time using a microwaveEven in summer it got cold inside the warehouse working for 12 hours so you needed a hot meal. When I 1st started there was a large workforce so there was a canteen to serve various meals but has time went on and the workforce dwindled they shut the canteen and we ended up in a small room with two microwaves and a kettle and a toaster

Peter, I've never been a ' ping ' fan, I'd rather take a packed Lunch, Yes Mollie I do my five a day , Peas, collie, cabbage , beans, onion, tomatos, peppers cucumber . lettuce . Then there is a drink I love which contains, Wheat , barly, grain and hops , I've never understood why a portion of, Peas only counts as one helping of the ' 5 a day' I can eat a full tin and its still only counts of 1 portion, Its the same with beanz , At this very moment I have lettuce, beetroot, tomatoes and peas growing in the greenhouse and homegrown veg is particularly good but its a bit of a wait,,,

Small bottles of shampoo / conditioner/ bodywash in hotel rooms pet hate!! you get in to the shower with no glasses then you have to take your chances that you grab the right one and in the right order!!!! And what is the point of putting body cream in the shower
fun fact we don't have (microwave) meals in Israel
What we do have but only on fridays are freshly homecooked meals like fish/chicken/mash/ pasta/rice/stuff pepper/veg/soup all kinds of Jewish food and you buy by the weight..... like a carvery but only takeaway

You'd struggle putting a Bisto Cumberland Pie on a Pita bread.
I once tried it on a Barm Joey. It went everywhere!
PS: I've had Pita with Quail, but I've never tried Pita with Partridge!

Are the microwave/oven combos any good ?
Replied: 27th Mar 2024 at 19:52
Eye pie, I would say a airfryer is a better option , they range from £29 to £200+, I got one for £40 and its great, I use it more than any other appliance in my house . I have a
cooker with oven, grill and 4 burners, A microwave, a George foreman grill, a Frank Bruno toaster ( only does 4 rounds) ,a Breville sandwich maker , a steam cooker, a pressure cooker and a barbeque,
The air fryer is the most used,,,

Air fryers, good for warming those pies up from the market.
Are shop bought pies ready meals?
